Progress Update
May 3, the early entry deadline has come and gone, 130 exhibitors have entered over 530 head of Percheron Horses to date. This includes 20 Super Chore Teams and 20 Horse Pull entries. Anyone wishing to still enter, the late entry deadline is May 28th see entry book for details or contact Jim Lane at 204-842-3658 or loneoak@escape.ca.
The Congress Committee has added two more events not listed in the entry book. The President's Cup and a Log Skid Event.
The President's Cup is a Provincial/State challenge with no entry fee. An entry consists of a Junior Stallion, Senior Stallion, Junior Mare, Senior Mare and a Gelding from exhibitors residing in the same state or province. The winner receives the President's Cup and bragging rights on the best horses in North America. Entries will be taken at the show office during the Congress.
Log Skidding has been added as a fun event, to let anyone interested take their team out and negotiate the course. Entries will be taken at the Show office during the show. The time, location, rules TBA prior to July 20th.
Fundraising is right on track, with only a few hitch classes available to sponsor. Contact Lyle Brown or Kathy Wesley if interested 204-838-2042.
Banquet Tickets are going fast, if you plan on attending pre-booking is encouraged to avoid disappointment. In conjunction with the Banquet there will be a pizza party for youth 18 and under. There is no charge for the Pizza Party but pre-registration must be made by contacting Marnie Anderson at 204-825-2967, mdawn@mts.net or registering at the show office.
The RCMP Musical Ride is primed and ready to perform; there are only two shows - Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, be sure not to miss this impressive demonstration of horsemanship.
The Tour of the International Peace Garden still has a few vacancies left. If interested in attending contact Debby Odlum at 204-825-2033 or dodlum@mts.net.
A farm tour of local Percheron Breeders is being planned with sign up at the Congress. For more info contact Debby Odlum at 204-825-2033 or dodlum@mts.net.
Exhibitor packages and Pre-ordered Spectator packages can be picked up at the livestock office. A representative of the World Percheron Congress will be at the gate to greet and assist with directions.
Tickets are still available for the Raffle Filly, but don't delay as there are only 2000 tickets printed on this quality 2 year old filly donated by Grandsun Percherons, Troy Stewart.
The Congress Sale has a select group of horses entered with more expected from the top three placings in their classes. Contact Gord Joseph at 204-845-2320, elkview@mts.net or Dave Carson at 519-291-2049.
Directions to the Keystone Centre are very straight forward; it is located on the south side of Brandon along #10 highway (18th street). If coming in from the North, East or West turn off #1 highway south onto #10 and proceed south approx 5 miles to Keystone Centre, located on the east side of the road.

Fellow Percheron Enthusiasts:
2004 is here and the Congress is right around the corner.
The prize list has gone to print and will be available February 1, 2004. We will be
mailing out 400 - 500, if you don’t receive one contact our secretary either by accessing
our website or calling her directly and she will ensure one is sent to you.
Raffle tickets on the registered two-year-old filly can also be obtained for $10.00
Canadian Funds from any committee member or accessing the website.
Fundraising is right on schedule. There are a few classes available to sponsor, if
anyone is interested contact Lyle Brown or Kathy Wesley at address below.
We will also be having a horse pull, super chore team competition and sale in
conjunction with the Congress, rules and entry forms are included in the prize list.
The world renowned Royal Canadian Mounted Police Musical Ride will be performing
for two shows only on July 20th and July 21st. They are a crowd favorite, so make sure
you don’t miss out on their performance.
A Trade Show will also be held in conjunction with this world event. If you are
interested in acquiring display space see contact information below.
Our Congress Committee is dedicated to making this a show for all to enjoy as a
