Provincial Percheron Show Held in Virden

The Virden Ag Society hosted another successful Provincial Percheron show sponsored in part by the Manitoba Percheron Belgian Club. There were 50 Percheron horses entered in this year's show which was judged by Mr. Justin Shaw of Nova Scotia.

Supreme Percheron Champion - Birdtail Valley Jana

Birdtail Valley Jana, a 2 year old filly, emerged victorious as the Supreme Champion of the show.

The Percheron show was held on Thursday, July 7, with the remainder of the Virden Fair taking place on Friday and Saturday. Despite the heat, entries were generally reported as being pretty good although down from last year. Show organizers are to be commended for a job well done, and for running an exhibitor-friendly fair. Their hospitality was certainly appreciated and recognized.
